You left that patch of light
On a piece of earth for me

My being, my existence
And you took all of me

How did that help you? It didn't.
I still live, I still love
With my arms spread out
With my heart enclosing all
And I see you coming back
To take more and more
More and more of me


There is more of me still
The heart that lives on
Seemingly without a beat
The soul that carries on
Presumably without light
I keep going on
